Interface
The main content order is Classes, Abilities, Shop, Amulet, Heroic, Items, Chronicle. Shop appears after its unlock and Amulet appears from age 25. Heroic summarizes milestone progress and every Great class, ability, and item chain. The left and right arrow keys cycle through only visible content tabs.
Empire, Leaderboard, Achievements, Settings, and the Wiki link are utility buttons in the top header rather than entries in the content-tab row.
Items is a read-only mastery inventory grouped into Common Work, Military, The Arcane Association, The Void, Galactic Council, Dark Ascendancy, and Metaverse. A class’s card appears after one actual work tick. Hover or focus a card to see its item, current effects, worked peak, and next tier through Ruby. The inventory remains readable while jailed.
The sidebar reports age, current class and ability, copper, income, expenses, net flow, Happiness, lifespan, and time-warp values. Expansion progress adds EPP, every unlocked Echo target, Dark Matter, Dark Orbs, Metaverse Points, and Hypercubes where relevant. Large copper values use compact named denominations, including Emerald at and Ruby at .
After 1 lifetime Dark Matter, the Amulet shows current, lifetime, and run Dark Matter; the next Collapse award; Orb generator and upgrade rows; and doctrine cards. Its Metaverse view adds the next Point award, refundable preparation perks, Hypercube and altar controls, and Reality Boost status. The Chronicle shows lifetime game days, largest awards, permanent milestones, and recent lives.
The saved Sticky header setting pins the Classes or Abilities column header while its table scrolls and is enabled by default. Dark mode is the default; the optional light theme is session-only.
Settings provide English, French, and Russian choices using UK, French, and Russian flag cards. A new profile must choose a language before simulation, input, or autosaving begins. Existing profiles continue in English and can switch at any time. A language change refreshes the full interface immediately without changing s&box’s global language.
Settings also provide music and UI-sound volume, separate mute controls, track controls, and the keyboard-shortcut reference. Audio state and the sticky-header choice are included in the local save. Language is stored separately in legacy/preferences.json; if that preference cannot be written, the selected language remains active for the current session and a warning appears without interrupting play.
Visible numbers use the selected language’s decimal and grouping separators. Compact magnitude suffixes and coin symbols remain unchanged. Controls can grow and authored copy wraps so translated labels and the shortest or longest valid numeric values remain readable; only unbounded player names and URLs may be shortened visually, with their full text retained for accessibility.
The class and ability category headers use themed pattern art, and the task rows are larger for readability. The ability table shows a Skip control when auto-learn is enabled, an E control after Echo I unlocks, and Great promotion controls when eligible. The Shop provides separate Great conversion controls. Skip changes only auto-learn eligibility; E queues an Echo focus; clicking the rest of the row manually selects the ability and disables auto-learn. Echo cards and the sidebar show efficiency, target, level progress, XP rate, and remembered Resonance peak; Clear Echoes removes every focus.
